Permanent Mold Casting
Process features
- Solidification of the melting charge at elevated pressure
- High feeding pressure during the back-feed phase
- Controlled and low-turbulence mold filling
- High degree of automation
Basic principle
Using the permanent mold casting technique, we produce dynamically highly stressed safety parts, in particular those used in car chassis, which require an exceptionally high degree of quality.
Our production is subject to the use of automated circular casting equipment with casting robots, automatic removal, pressing and sawing operations and robot-assisted radiographic testing.
Permanent mold castings attain excellent mechanical properties after a defined heat treatment process and are well suited for the use in vehicle sectors relevant to crash safety, with ductile yield values of > 5%. The excellent weldability of these items also qualifies them for any assembly situation where welding is required. |
